The standard this site is built to

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the international standard for web accessibility. The checks listed below were carried out against the published site on 7 October 2026 and it met the criteria they cover. That is a statement about what was measured, not a claim that every page is perfect for every person.

This is a private company, so the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to us. The Equality Act 2010 does, and it requires us to make reasonable adjustments for disabled customers. This page is how we hold ourselves to that.

How the site is built

There is no enquiry form, no live chat, no carousel, no pop-up and no video that plays on its own. Bookings are taken on the phone. Much of what makes a website hard to use is simply absent here.

Beyond that: every page works from the keyboard alone and shows where the focus is; the first thing you reach on any page is a link that skips the navigation; text can be resized without content disappearing; nothing flashes; and animation is switched off automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.

What has been measured

Text contrast
2,638 text nodes across all 20 pages, at 1280px and 390px, each resolved against the background actually behind it. Minimum 4.5:1, or 3:1 for large text.
Focus indicator
The keyboard focus ring measured against every surface it can appear on. Minimum 3:1.
Target size
Every link, button and control measured. Minimum 24 by 24 pixels, excluding links inside a sentence.
Reflow
All 20 pages at 390px wide, checked for content running off the side of the screen.
Text over the hero photograph
The home page reverses its text out over a photograph, which an ordinary background check cannot see. The photo’s brightest pixel was composited at the lightest point of its dark wash and all 201 items of hero text were re-measured against that worst case.
Text spacing
All pages re-measured with increased line height, letter spacing and word spacing applied, checked for text being cut off.
Structure
Heading order, page landmarks, image alternative text, link wording, page language and the skip link.

Where this falls short

Four things we know about, stated plainly rather than left for you to discover.

  • It has not been tested with a screen reader

The checks above are measurements of the code and the rendering. They are not the same as someone using JAWS, NVDA or VoiceOver to get through a page, and we have not done that testing.

  • It has not been tested by disabled people

No user testing has taken place. Measurements find the barriers a tool can see, which is not all of them.

  • The orange full stop in our logo is low contrast

It measures 3.32:1 against white. Logos are exempt from the contrast rules, so this passes, but it is worth stating rather than hiding behind the exemption.

  • Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts

If those files fail to load the page falls back to a system font. Layout will shift but nothing becomes unreadable.

If you cannot use a phone

We should be straight about this: a business that takes bookings only by telephone has put a barrier in front of anyone who is deaf, hard of hearing, or has a speech difficulty. We have not removed that barrier, so here are the ways around it.

Relay UK lets you type your side of a call and have it spoken to us, with our replies typed back to you. It is free, it needs no account with us, and it works with our ordinary number. Dial 18001 followed by 0333 567 2635, or use the Relay UK app. More at relayuk.bt.com.

Someone else can call for us. A relative, a neighbour, a managing agent or a support worker may book on your behalf. We only need the address, a way to reach whoever will be at the property, and a description of the problem.

Write to us at Unit L, BPI House, Cores End Road, Bourne End SL8 5AS. Post is slower than a call and no use in an emergency, so use one of the routes above if the water is still running.

Reporting a problem with this site

If something here is unusable for you, tell us and we will fix it. Ring 0333 567 2635, or use any of the routes above, and say which page and what happened. We will reply within five working days.

If you are not satisfied with how we respond, the Equality Advisory and Support Service handles complaints about discrimination in the provision of services. They are at equalityadvisoryservice.com.

How this page is kept honest

The measurements above are repeatable. The method is recorded with the rest of this site’s sources, and the date at the top changes only when the checks have actually been run again. A statement that claims a barrier is gone when it is not is worse than having no statement at all.

Ring us and we will work around whatever is needed.
